IP Office - Voice Messaging
All IP Office systems have been specifically designed to give a business
a competitive edge by providing a total communications system. To this
end a Voicemail application is provided as standard on all IP Office systems.
Three voicemail applications are available to suit the needs of small and
medium sized business:
1. Embedded VoiceMail 2. VoiceMail Lite 3. VoiceMail Pro (Standalone,
networked, centralized, and integrated messaging options)
Where a customer prefers to save space with an all-in-one-box solution
or where a PC cannot be designated as a voicemail server then Embedded
Voicemail is the preferred option. It can be used with Avaya supplied memory
cards on the IP Office - Small Office Edition and the IP406V2. On the Small
Office Edition it uses voice compression channels.
VoiceMail Lite is the standard PC-based voicemail application provided
with all IP Office platforms. VoiceMail Pro, also PC-based, builds on the
features and facilities offered by VoiceMail Lite and can be tailored to
meet the individual needs of a business by adding applications such as
auto-attendant, call recording and advanced Call Queuing.
Both VoiceMail Lite and VoiceMail Pro applications can reside on a Windows
2000, 2003 or XP Professional PC. Communication between IP Office and this
'Voicemail server' is via IP over a LAN connection. No specific hardware
is required – not even a PC sound card. VoiceMail Pro forms the key building
block for a number of enhanced messaging options.
a. Networked Messaging
Where organisations are operating different voicemail systems across a
number of sites, Networked Messaging can provide integrated operation between
the systems so that messages can be passed between systems and delivered
to the user’s mail box seamlessly.
b. Centralised Voicemail/messaging.
VoiceMail Pro can be used to provide voicemail services for remote IP Office
systems connected to a central IP Office system via Small Community Networking.
Where IP Office is deployed in remote locations connected back to a central
MultiVantage/ Avaya Communication Manager, voicemail services can be provided
to IP Office users via Intuity Audix or Modular Messaging in place of VoiceMail
Pro.
c. Integrated Messaging Pro
Integrated Messaging Pro allows increased productivity through easier management
and prioritisation of email and voicemail messages through one Inbox. This
optional application integrates IP Office VoiceMail Pro and Microsoft Exchange
email systems.
